I started riding hunter ponies in lessons and got my first little Quarter Horse when I was 14. Reo was the perfect horse for a teenager and tolerated me with the patience of a saint. When I got introduced to eventing (he had no style as a hunter), we found his niche. Brave, smart, and honest, he took amazing care on the cross country course. Preliminary level was his limit, and when I was faced with upgrading to a new horse if I wanted to advance, I chose to stay where I was and with the horse I loved. Truly, I wasn’t that talented of a jumper rider, so it was probably for the best.

The conditioning and health of the horse spurred my interest in studying Animal Science at Texas A&M. I soon realized that I wasn’t cut out for vet school even though I’ve maintained an interest in the science of equine care and nutrition. I moved on to graduate from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Advertising.

Dressage is my main focus in riding now, and I enjoy writing about horses and other interests as well, along with enhancing websites and advertisements.
